Food Challenge

Making over your lunch can be a piece of cake, if you have the right tools! I’m sharing menu ideas and recipes to help you, your family and your students eat right during the third annual National School Food Challenge. These menus have been created with an emphasis on regional, organic, seasonal and sustainable food. Since foods that are regional and seasonal differ from state to state and city to city, it’s okay to substitute. Spice up these recipes in a way that works for you and your kids. I want you to feel good about putting fresh, healthy foods in your home, in your schools and in lunchboxes across America.

Since I also know that it’s a bit different cooking for one or cooking for one thousand, I’ve provided parent-friendly and school-friendly recipes to choose from.

Following is a list of recipes that Chef Ann has chosen specifically for the Challenge.
